Can anybody share their fat-to-fit journey?
Can anybody share their
fat-to-fit journey?
My name is Dilmeet , aged 32 years. I started my weight loss journey in September,2019. I weighed 90kgs (height-5’2)
I was suffering with pcod. My energy was low, I was always tired, and I found myself having to take the lift just to go up a floor. I always thought weight loss for me was impossible, the following being the reasons-
1) I am a punjabi, the regular food cooked at home is soaked in ghee and butter.
2) We all at home love eating outside food, so after eating home made food, we made it a point to order from outside. So two dinners were a must followed by deserts and late night snack.
3) A lot of people told me it’s impossible to lose weight when you have pcod
Inspiration-
My son who is 10 years old was the only motivation I had. He is an athlete, looking forward to becoming a national player. When he started to put on weight even after working so hard I realised it’s not his mistake but it’s us who are totally responsible for his weight gain. To inspire him to lose weight, I started my journey.
September-
I started walking , brisk walk. I made sure I walked ATLEAST 20000 steps(14km) a day.
I did a lot of research on intermittent fasting and wanted to give it a try. I started with the most basic 8 hours eating window and 16 hours of fasting. I found no difficulty in doing it and I loved the way I felt more active each successive day.
I lost 8 kgs and probably most of it was water weight. My happiness had no boundaries and I decided to continue it further.
October and November-
My walking continued , I tried a little more intense workout, whatever for feasible to do at home.
These two months got a major change in my food habits. I had the same eating window but now I started to give up on carbohydrates. I had daal, vegetables, chicken and Greek yoghurt. After a lot of research I realised that I wasn’t getting enough protein and looked for best supplements. This is where I decided to give Oziva products a shot.
Their protein for woman is a plant based product and I always looked for natural things so that I don’t harm my body further.
By the end of these two months I had further lost 10kgs
December and January-
These were the months when people started to notice that I was losing a little weight,But my body had got used to the same level of exercise and food and it stopped responding. I had reached the weight loss plateau. I loved food but I love myself even more. I want to live longer and feel better and hence I got to take care of my body. So I started following the most difficult form of intermittent which is 1 hour of eating window and 23 hours of fasting. It was difficult initially but I started loving it after practising it for a week.
You Can Lose Weight and Reduce Calorie intake by Intermittent Fasting.. The main reason that intermittent fasting works for weight loss is that it helps you eat fewer calories.
Even though I ate less, I had sufficient energy to work. I slept a lot better. And I lost 7 kgs more by the end of Jan.
Feb and March- This was exam season and me being a teacher had a lot of stress , I couldn’t continue my 20000 steps because of lack of time and had to cut it down to 10000 steps a day. I continued my OMAD(one meal a day) further to reach my target weight which I finally achieved on 30th March 2020. I weigh 61 kgs now.
I was obese, and today finally I have a normal bmi.
It’s amazing how much your life can change and your confidence can grow when you lose the weight which you never thought you could.
A piece of advice-“As you prepare to commit to change your life, remember that change must first happen in your mind. You're not capable if you don't think you are."."
